
If you experience five or more of the following for at least a period of two weeks, you might be facing a major depression. Some of the Depression symptoms are as follows,
1. Thoughts of suicide or death
2. Insomnia or oversleeping
3. Loss of interest or pleasure in usual activities, including sex
4. Persistent sadness, pessimism
5. Difficulty concentrating and complaints of poor memory
6. Feelings of guilt, worthlessness, helplessness or hopelessness
7. Worsening of co-existing chronic disease, such as rheumatoid arthritis or diabetes
8. Slow speech; slow movements
9. Weight gain or loss
10. Anxiety, agitation, irritability
11. Fatigue, lack of energy
12. Headache, stomachache, and digestive problems
